Substitute Teacher: Kate
Kate is a thrift store queen and can usually be found searching through racks at Value Village in Mississauga and Newmarket looking for sweet finds. Her personal style has a heavy nod toward the 90’s not because it’s hip but because that what she tends to find at thrift stores. To her, fashion doesn’t have to be forced and she always dresses for comfort: “when going out at night I add chunky wedges to every outfit”.
Her closet is comprised of stolen Ralph Laruen from her mother, pieces heavily inspired by her equestrian background, youth at summer camp and the dramatic colours in her father’s wardrobe.
Kate is currently the Music Editor for Plaid Magazine, an impressive Toronto glossy that is published 3 times/year and has an active website for every other day of the year. You will most likely see Kate riding her mountain bike, (fit for a 13 year old boy), around Roncy Village, wearing a toque, jacket, jean shorts and knee socks. She’s so effortlessly cool it’s amazing.
Footnotes:
Kate is wearing a vintage ‘K’ varsity jacket (purchased at EXHILE in Kensington), Ralph Lauren white shirt, vintage NAVY t-shirt, vintage american fanny pack, H&M Knee socks, Club Monaco skirt and Palladium boots
